OJO WINS MAN OF THE MEET; SWEDES COMPETE IN KCAC INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Wichita, Kan. – The Bethany College Indoor Track & Field teams competed in the KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Wichita, Kansas.

Collectively, the Swedes had 25 personal bests, 12 honorable mention performances, 3 1st team KCAC performances, 3 event finalists, 2 team champions of character, 1 national qualifier, and the overall track and field male athlete of the meet.

Head Coach Aaron Yoder: "I am very pleased with how our team produced their best performances when it mattered most. This was a good example how competitive our team is and how they respond to the championship environment. We had personal best performances and all conference performers in the sprints, distance, jumping and relays which was exactly what we wanted to do this weekend. This was a great way to round out the regular indoor track and field season. I was very impressed with how Coach Smucker did an incredible job prepping the sprinters and jumpers for an outstanding weekend."

There are plenty of highlights from the 2-day event, but one notable thing to happen was having all 6 relay teams receive all-conference honors including the men's 4x400m relay ending the meet with a third-place finish and receiving 1st team All-KCAC honors.

Junior Enoch Ojo received the Overall Male Track & Field Athlete of the Meet. Ojo was 1st team all-conference in 3 events and honorable mention in another. Enoch also stamped his ticket to nationals by hitting the national standard in the Triple Jump.

"Enoch has worked so hard to get where he is and it will be exciting to see what he does next at nationals and also moving to outdoor season" said Coach Yoder.
