BLACK-HARMON EARNS KCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lindsborg, Kan. – Janae Black-Harmon as earned this week's KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honors the conference office announced Monday. Black-Harmon was selected for his performances from February 17-23 by a vote of conference sports information directors. 

Janae Black-Harmon fueled the Swedes off the bench in their upsets of the two best teams in the conference at the time while averaging a double-double on the week. Against Kansas Wesleyan, the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament, Black-Harmon finished with a double-double while also racking up three blocks. Against Friends University, the No. 5 seed in the upcoming conference tournament, she put up 14 points and nine rebounds, finishing just short of a double-double while also nabbing four steals in the victory.

Janae Black-Harmon is the first Swede to earn weekly honors this season. She is also the first Swedes Women's Basketball player to earn weekly honors since Feb. 1, 2022, when Hannah Ferguson won Offensive Player of the Week and the first since January 23, 2018, when Sydney Ahaneku to win Defensive Player of the Week.
