SWEDES COME UP SHORT IN MCPHERSON

SWEDES COME UP SHORT IN MCPHERSON

McPherson, Kan. - The Bethany College Baseball team played away at McPherson College where they struggled to gain momentum in a three-game series. Bethany College would come home empty handed from McPherson where they continue to try and find winning ways.

Game 1

The opening game of the series saw the Swedes struggle to get any hits or runs. The sole hit would come from Connor Crayton and the only run would be scored by Caleb Copeland. McPherson scored 11 runs in this game that ended 1-11 in favor of the home team.

Game 2

In a more even matchup, the Swedes did an incredible job in answering back at the good batting of their opponents. McPherson would score three runs in the 1st inning; however, the Swedes would also score three runs of their own in the 2nd. This back-and-forth battle ended with McPherson winning the game 5-7. While the game didn't end the way the Swedes anticipated, it was a much better performance than game 1. Jonathan Crist would stand out with three RBIs in game 2.

Game 3

As the series ended both would nearly replicate the first 2 innings of the previous game. McPherson scored three while Bethany would answer with two straight away. As both teams would try and dominate the momentum race, it would be McPherson who would end up on top 3-8 at the end of the game. Bryce Moseley would stand out for the Swedes with two hits and runs in this final series game.

Up Next

The Bethany College Baseball team play St. Mary for the last time this season at home. The Swedes have put up a great fight against St. Mary the two previous bouts but have come up short. They look to take a game before having to face Kansas Wesleyan later that week.
