SWEDES FALL SHORT TO NO. 24 EAGLES 91-80; HAYNES DROPS NEW CAREER-HIGH

Bartlesville, Okla. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Basketball team took the road to Bartlesville, Okla. to take on the number 24 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles. This contest was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 4, but due to inclement weather, the game was rescheduled to this evening. In a game that featured plenty of runs, the Swedes would ultimately fall 91-80.

Kenny Haynes would have another career night with 32 points going 7 for 15 from beyond the arc; a season-high by a single player this season for the Swedes. Emmanuel Akpan would add another 17 points followed by Devin Spencer with 12. Spencer had a night matching his season high in steals (6) during conference play. He also led the team in assists with eight assists on the evening. Kendall Collins would lead the team in rebounds with six.

As a team, Bethany shot their best percentage from the charity arc all season shooting at an 87.5% clip. The Swedes would also hit connect on 12 three pointers marking their new season high. Unfortunately, the bench couldn't get anything going offensively mustering only five points.
