McPherson, Kan. - The Bethany College Men's Soccer team played against Central Christian College in their third non-conference game of the season.
The Swedes got off into an incredible start by attacking the goal repeatedly throughout the first half. Despite having many opportunities, they could not break through into goal. Their seemed to be a newfound confidence amongst the team going forward as they also did well holding off Central Christian's attack.
Unfortunately for the Swedes and indirect free kick would lead to a goal scored by the Tigers with 15 minutes left to play in the first half. Despite this, the Swedes were able to lead the half with 9 shots compared to the Tigers' 2. The Tigers took advantage of a great opportunity to go into halftime 1-0 up.
In the second half the Tigers were able to capatalize on the momentum they had found towards the end of the second and dominated in attacking play. They would go on to score another 2 goals to later win the match 3-0 at home. Their second half play and home crowd seemed to be overwhelming for the Swedes who fought hard until the last minute but couldn't score.
Up next…
