PK DECIDES FATE OF THE SWEDES

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Bethany College Men's Soccer team played against Tabor College and honored their seniors prior to the start of the match.

Both the Swedes and the Bluejays started the match off strong wanting to assert their dominance early on. Both teams got shots off in the first half but failed to be clinical. However, a mistake in the midfield led to an opportunity that was thwarted by the Swedes through a strong tackle. However, the official ruled a penalty kick which was converted in the 32nd minute of the match. The bluejays led the match from that moment forward, however, the second half would be just as entertaining.

In the second half the Swedes fought long and hard to get the ball into the box. They closed in time and time again but struggled to get a goal due to the bluejays defense. They fought until the very last minute to give something to the home crowd who was loud and gave them all their support. Despite the battle, the Swedes would come empty handed as a penalty would decide their fate. Regardless their heads were held up high as they were cheered on by their supporters.

Up next…

The Bethany College Men's Soccer team will play the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles who are the 2nd ranked team in the nation.
