5 SWEDES EARN ALL-KCAC HONORS

Wichita, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the 2023-24 KCAC Women's Basketball All-Conference teams and award winners. Student-athletes were selected for all awards by vote of the KCAC head women's basketball coaches.

Tabor College took home the regular-season conference title for the third consecutive season, with a 21-1 record in conference play, as part of a 24-4 overall record. Shawn Reed, the Bluejays' head coach, was named the Lonnie Kruse Coach of the Year by his peers.

Tanea Sims of the University of Saint Mary was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. From Friends University, Taylor Jackson was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year, and Lauren McIver was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Year. Kamie Jenkins of Evangel University earned the KCAC Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year honor.

Representing Bethany College were 5 Swedes: R'Manie Pulling (2nd Team), Jaden Newfarmer (3rd Team), Kisa Unruh (Honorable Mention), Lauren Gleason (Honorable Mention), and Kylie Dunn (All-Defensive Team).

R'Manie Pulling was a great change of pace player off the bench this year for the Swedes. Pulling ranked top-10 in the KCAC with 130 field goals made throughout the entire season.

Jaden Newfarmer got the starting nod midway through the season and she made the most of it. Newfarmer ranked top-10 in field goal percentage (49.8%), total rebounds (154), assists (58), and steals (44) during conference play.

Kisa Unruh maintained her ability to shoot the long ball. Unruh finished with 57 3-pointers made throughout the season which was good for 6th most in the KCAC.

Lauren Gleason started all 28 games the Swedes played. Gleason finished top-10 in field goal percentage (49.5%) and offensive rebounds (66) throughout the season.

Kylie Dunn was a defensive stalwart throughout the season. Dunn's defensive metrics helped earn her a place on the KCAC All-Defense team.
