BETHANY FALLS IN WEEKEND TRI

Peru, Neb.- Bethany College was on the road, Saturday, Aug. 24^th taking on the Waldorf University Warriors and the Peru State College Bobcats in a weekend triangular match. First on the ticket was Waldorf in a 4-set match.

Set 1: The Swedes would take the first set after dominating the net throughout the set. Final score of set 1 was 25-20.

Set 2: The Warriors would come back and take set 2 after battling the Swedes point for point. Final score of the second set was 23-25.

Set 3: The Swedes would struggle in the third set with only 9 kills for the set and finishing 16-25.

Set 4: The fourth and final set was full of highs and lows for the Swedes who went point for point with the Warriors until the 10-10 mark where they would find themselves in a four-point deficient 10-14. After fighting to stay in the match, Bethany came back within one at 15-16. The Warriors would continue to keep the Swedes at bay until they went on their final run at 19-17. Final score was 19-25.

Notable Stats from this game include 11 kills, 15 assists, and earning 12 points overall was Mandy Knipp, Autry Satica with 2 blocks, Michelle Acevedo Ortiz with 39 digs, and Madison McGuire hitting a .238 with 9 points overall earned.

Following the Waldorf match, the Swedes took on the Peru State Bobcats. This would be a quick 3 set match with the Bobcats finishing on top, 22-25, 17-25, 13-25.
