Drug Testing

Bethany College believes that it is a privilege for a student to represent Bethany on or off the field with character and integrity, and that students should be encouraged to promote good physical health and well-being of all student-athletes. Therefore, student-athletes follow the Drug Education and Drug Testing Policy.

The purpose of the educational program is to assist student-athletes by ensuring that they are well informed about illegal drugs, dietary supplements, and the abuse of legal drugs. The educational program further attempts to promote a healthy student-athlete lifestyle as well as create a fair competitive environment.

The purpose of the drug and substance abuse testing program is to discourage the use of illegal drugs and the abuse of legal drugs and dietary supplements by student-athletes through a screening program based on periodic testing, designed to identify those who use a banned substance.
