
FALL CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER ANNOUNCED
Lindsborg, Kan. – On Thursday, December 8th, the Kansas Athletic Collegiate Conference announced the winners of the Champions of Character awards for both team and individuals.
Committed to advancing character-driven athletics, the NAIA Champions of Character program aims to inspire student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans to hold high standards and embody what character truly means in a competitive arena. By keeping the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership at the heart of the athletics experience, the Champions of Character program empowers participants to change the culture of sport.
Swedes' Volleyball was awarded the KCAC Team Champions of Character award for their work throughout the year. Bethany College Volleyball has been involved in several service projects this semester, including:
- Working at a local blood drive (two more coming in the spring).
- Lindsborg Elementary School Walk-A-Thon (team members went to Smoky Valley Elementary every Wednesday morning in September and October and played with students to promote a healthy lifestyle).
- Helping setup and tear down for the Lindsborg Homecoming 5K Race.
- Hosted Youth Volleyball Night and Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Nights at several of their home games to promote causes important to the team.
Winners for the individual Champions of Character Awards were:
- Men's Cross Country – David Sawyer
- Women's Cross Country – Corgan Nickelson
- Football – Logan Kirby
- Men's Soccer – Dylan "DJ" Devoy
- Women's Soccer – Paige Henry
- Volleyball – Brekken Anderson
