SWEDES SUFFER 0-3 DEFEAT IN SERIES

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Bethany College Baseball team played at home over the weekend against the Tabor College Bluejays.  The Swedes unfortunately be swept in a three-game series where they fought hard but still struggled to catch up to their opponents.

Game 1

Tabor would open up the game with a three-run homer. Not to be shown up, the Swedes would get a run of their own to show they wouldn't go down easily. Tabor would go on to score more runs throughout the rest of the game but a home-run by Alexander Cuevas gave the Swedes a glimmer of hope. It would not be enough as the Bluejays would win this game 9-2

Game 2

This matchup was much more one-sided in favor of the Bluejays. The Swedes were able to get on base a limited number of times, however, a run wasn't in the cards this time. Tabor would go on to win convincingly 12-0 in a game where Connor Haresnape stood out for the amount of hits he produced.

Game 3

Trying to find their footing in this series, the Swedes would fight hard to produce some runs. Despite the strong start by Tabor, the Swedes would get 2 runs of their own in the 5th inning. Jonathan Crist would be responsible for 2 hits and 2 RBIs to get his teammates across Homeplate. However, Tabor would come out on top again 10-2 to take the series in a convincing manner.

Up Next

The Bethany College Baseball team play St. Mary in a single game outing during the week. The Swedes will most certainly be needing forgetting this series against Tabor in order to get back on track during this conference run. As the team continues to work hard, they look to bring the home support joy in this final home game before going on the road for some time.
