FOURTH INNING SPOILS SWEDES AFTERNOON
Lindsborg, Kan. - In a closely contested baseball game on March 18, 2025, Bethany College Swedes were edged out by the University of Saint Mary Spires with a final score of 7-5, at their home field in Lindsborg, Kan. Despite the loss, Bethany College showcased several commendable performances.
Bethany's team effort was highlighted by a home run from William Sanchez in the second inning, which was his fifth homer of the season. Jonathan Crist and Josue Figuera contributed significantly with two hits and two stolen bases each, reflecting Bethany's aggressive playstyle. Additionally, Sanchez, along with A. Cuevas, D. Barker, and R. Smith, helped drive in runs for the Swedes.
The game turned in the fourth inning when Saint Mary pulled ahead with a decisive five-run surge, taking the lead that they maintained until the end. Bethany's starting pitcher, A. Troup, faced tough competition, dealing with the potent offense of the Spires.
