SWEDES SWEPT BY RIVALS; 16 HOMERUNS THROUGHOUT THE SERIES

Salina, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Baseball team took the road to Salina, Kan. to take on their longtime rivals, the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes, in a series that featured 16 total homeruns combined.

GAME 1: SWEDES 0, COYOTES 11 (8-INNINGS)

The Swedes traveled lightly to Game 1 as a good portion of the team served a suspension for the festivities that happened the prior weekend. For the ones that did play, this was not their best game as the Swedes mustered just four hits; two by Josue Figuera, who also stole a base.

GAME 2: SWEDES 3, COYOTES 13 (7-INNINGS)

Game 2 witnessed the return of the original starters, but the numbers were not much better. Bethany tallied one more hit than in Game 1, but two of those hits left the part resulting in the three runs scored.

GAME 3: SWEDES 4, COYOTES 15

The Swedes would start to see the ball a bit better recording eight hits throughout the contest. Josue Figuera and Ryan Smith would each tally two hits; one of Figuera's being a double. Danny Barker would hit a double as well. Jonathan Crist would send a solo shot over the fence for his lone hit of the match.

Up Next…

The Swedes have their next mid-week series coming up on Tuesday, April 1, as they travel to York, Neb. to take on the York University Panthers. Play is set to begin at 2:00 PM.
