SWEDES STRUGGLE IN GAME 1 VS PANTHERS
York, Neb. – The Bethany College Swedes began their second of two mid-week series, this one versus the York University Panthers in York, Neb.
The Swedes failed to get the bats going at the same time as only three baserunners made it to scoring position, but none got past second base.
Stephen Kent had the best day for the Swedes going two for three at the plate with two in singles. Josue Figuera recorded the lone extra base hit of the day with a two-out double in the sixth.
Jan Cruz had his best outing lasting 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts. Juan Melo would close out the final 2.0 innings allowing just one hit and striking out two.

The Swedes have what was supposed to be a home weekend series against the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles, but that has now been changed to a doubleheader beginning at 12pm on Thursday, April 3, while Game 3 will be played on that following Monday, April 7, at 2pm. It was also supposed to be Senior Day on Saturday, April 5, but, with the changes to the schedule, those plans TBA until further notice.
