SWEDES TO HOST ALUMNI FOOTBALL GAME SATURDAY, APRIL 6TH

LINDSBORG, KAN. - The Bethany College Swedes Football team has announced that there will be an alumni football game as part of their spring football game on Saturday, April 6th beginning at 1:00 PM. 

The Swedes are less than a month away from their first annual spring football alumni game. This year is the first time the Swedes will include alumni while playing their spring game. It will be a great day for Bethany alums to reconnect with the football team and coaches in a football setting.

Head Football Coach Mike Grossner: "My vision is for this spring outing to grow thru the years into an event that allows our seniors and alums to stay connected to the program in a fun and engaging way. A lot of our signed recruits and future prospects will be on hand to witness the old guard strapping it up one more time!"

After the game, Grossner and company will host a social at the Ol' Stuga allowing alum to heal their wounds while talking about the glory days.

As for the rules of the game, they will be established at a later date once Coach Grossner has an idea of how many alums are participating. One rule that has already been set is that quaterback and kicking situations will not be live.

The cost of the event will be $25 per alum although senior players from the past season will be free. The goal is to help cover some of the expenses a little bit for the event. A breakdown of the day is as follows:

  • 10:00 - 11:30am - Alumni Check-in/Equipment Hand Out/Waiver Signing/Health Insurance documentation
  • 11:45 - 12:55pm - Walk Through For Alumni
  • 1:00 - 3:00pm - Game
  • 3:3Spm - Social @ Ol'Stuga For Alums, Seniors, Coaches, Game Officials

Upon arrival, all participants should bring with them to the game:

  1. Check/Cash/Card
  2. Health Insurance Info/Proof
  3. Cleats/Gloves
  4. A Great Attitude
