Bio
Mike Grossner joined the Bethany College Athletic Department in November 2022 as the Bethany College Swedes Football Team’s Head Coach.
Before Bethany, Coach Grossner was the Head Coach of the Leicester Falcons. Grossner was also the Head Coach at Derby University in the 2022 winter season. While at Leicester, Grossner finished the 2021 shortened season ranked #7 in the country which was the highest ranking ever achieved by the franchise. He continued his dominance over the next season where his team went 11-1, won the conference championship and was a national semi-finalist.
Prior to that, Mike was the head coach for the Baker University Wildcats for 15 years resulting in 12 winning seasons in a row, seven NAIA playoff appearances, six HAAC championships, and one NAIA championship appearance. Grossner was a two-time AFCA Region Coach of the Year, three-time HAAC Coach of the Year, and Sprint Community Champion award winner.
Before Baker, Coach Grossner was a three-time Maricopa League Champion and Valley of the Sun Bowl participant while coaching for Glendale community College in Arizona as the head coach. Grossner also led his team to a national championship in 2000 and was named National Coach of the Year.
As a player, Mike was the career all-time leading passer in yardage as well as setting the record for touchdowns in a season while playing for the Nottingham Hoods leading them to a league championship and national semifinal appearance. While playing for the Ravenna Chiefs, Grossner was able to lead them to a national semifinal appearance as well.
Mike Grossner has accumulated bachelor’s degrees in Health & Physical Education K-12 Teaching (1988). He has also obtained his master’s degree in Education Counseling at Northern Arizona University in 1995. He is married to his wife Karen and have three children: Emma, Jake, and Ryker.
