Bio

Knute Holden joined the Bethany College Athletic Department in March 2023 as the Bethany College Swedes Football Team’s running backs and tight ends coach as well as the team’s Associate Strength Coordinator. In his first season, Coach Holden coached KCAC Honorable Mention Runningback Za'Marion Spencer during his freshman year. 

Before Bethany, Knute was the running backs coach as well as the offensive and defensive lines coach for the Leicester Falcons in Leicester, England from 2019 to 2020. Prior to Leicester, Knute Holden was coaching running backs, offensive line, and defensive line for the University of Derby Braves in Derby, England in 2019.

As a coach, Holden has helped the University of Derby Braves to a 10-0 season finishing undefeated, averaging over 27 point per game, and holding team to 9 points or less each game.

As a player, Knute was a three-time All-Conference performer at offensive line (2010-12) and one-time All-Conference performer at defensive line (2012) while in high school. While in college, Holden was a two-year starter at center for the Baker University Wildcats in Baldwin City, Kan. from 2013 to 2017. Knute was a two-time HAAC All-Conference player (First-Team All-HAAC in 2016), four-time HAAC Champion, and started at center in the 2016 NAIA National Championship.

Knute Holden has earned his bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Sports Administration while attending Baker University. Knute has also obtained his master’s degree in Science in Marketing Management while at the University of Derby in 2021.

Coach Holden lives with his wife Krista, two dogs Izzy & Ivy, and cat Torvi.
