North Newton, Kan. – The Bethany College Men's Basketball Team took the road to North Newton, Kansas to face off against the Bethel College Threshers in a KCAC matchup. Both teams were coming off losses to open conference play.
The Threshers would jump on the board first by way of a three-pointer and never look back. The Swedes would keep it tight early on cutting the Bethel lead down to a single possession multiple times in the first half, but couldn't quite tie it up or grab the lead. The Threshers would open up in the second half grabbing a 23-point lead with four minutes left to play en route to a 82-59 win.
Maurice Cudjo II would lead the Swedes in scoring with 13 points followed closely by Devin Spencer with 12. Spencer would tie Jamal Frenchwood for team-highs in rebounds (5) and assists (2). Devin Spencer would also nab 3 steals on the evening making it 9 total steals to open conference play.
As a team, the Swedes struggled to make shots shooting 35.6% from the field including 20% from deep.
