SWEDES SOAR OVER FALCONS; EARN FIRST KCAC WIN

LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Men's Basketball Team played host to the visiting Friends University Falcons. The Swedes were looking for their first victory in conference play.

Friends would jump on the board first with a short jumper, but Maurice Cudjo II would answer back with a three-pointer assisted by Ty Eugene on Bethany's first possession. Over the next couple of minutes, the Falcons would go on a 6-0 run making it 9-3. Kobe Samake Krajnc would slam home a dunk to spark the Swedes as Bethany would outscore Friends by 12 by time halftime came around; leading 41-35.

In the second half, Kobe Samake Krajnc would open the half with five consecutive points including an "And-1" conversion. Throughout the half, the Swedes would continuously build their lead to a point where they were up by 26 points with 7:43 left to play. Friends would try to come back, but the deficit was too much with too little time. The Swedes would ultimately win 84-71.

Scoring was pretty even as six Swedes would score in the double-digits. Maurice Cudjo II would lead with 17 points followed by Devin Spencer (14), Kobe Samake Krajnc (13), Ty Eugene (12), JD Carson (12), & Jamal Frenchwood (10).

Frenchwood would lead Bethany in rebounds with 11 securing his second double-double of the season. Spencer would tally a game-high seven assists matching the Falcons team total.

Defensively, Devin Spencer would record four steals while Kobe Samake Krajnc would swat three of Friends' shots.

As a team, Bethany shot their season-high in field goal percentage with a 54.1% clip. Their three-point percentage was a season-high as well shooting 37.0%. The Swedes would move the ball around more than the Falcons as Bethany totaled 23 assists compared to Friends' 7.

The Swedes will take a trip to Salina, Kansas on Saturday, December 2nd to face their rivals, the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM in Mabee Arena.
