FRENCHWOOD’S BIG NIGHT NOT ENOUGH; SWEDES FALL TO BULLDOGS

LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Swedes played host to the McPherson College Bulldogs Wednesday Night in Hahn Gymnasium.

Jamal Frenchwood would open the contest with a three-pointer and two free throws that started off his best game of the season. It would take 2:15 before the Bulldogs would get on the board to answer back, but Ty Eugene would hit a three on the following possession to increase the Swede lead to 6.

Bethany would find themselves up by 10 after a Devin Spencer made layup with 12 minutes left to play in the first half leading to a Bulldog timeout. Following the timeout, McPherson would outscore Bethany by 11 to take their first lead with six minutes left in the half. Although the Swedes would not be able to take the lead before the half, they did tie it a couple of times including at 39-39 to go into the break.

The second half would not start off very well for the Swedes as McPherson would go up by double-digits (57-47) with 12 minutes left to play. The Swedes would continue to fight throughout the entirety of the contest cutting the Bulldog lead down to as much as four points, but McPherson was able to hit key shots to maintain for the rest of the game. The Bulldogs would escape Hahn Gymnasium with an 86-72 win.

Jamal Frenchwood would end the night with a career-high 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds to secure his third double-double this season. Jelani Moreno would step in when called upon and score his season-high 17 points with 4 assists and 2 steals. Devin Spencer would nab 3 steals before exiting the game via injury. Kobe Samake Krajnc would patrol the paint and swat 2 shots on the evening.

The Swedes with continue their homestand this weekend as they host the Evangel University Valor on Saturday, December 9th in Hahn Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 2pm following the women's contest.
