SWEDES UNABLE TO KEEP UP WITH TIGERS; FALL BY 15

LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Swedes hosted the Doane University Tigers in a non-conference match-up Saturday, December 16^th.

The Swedes would jump on the board first as Maurice Cudjo II would capitalize on a steal by his teammate Ty Eugene. Bryant Jefferson would add on to the lead by converting a layup from Eugene. Bethany would maintain a lead for most of the first 14 minutes until Doane nabbed the lead by way of a three-pointer to go up 25-23. The Tigers would maintain the lead for the rest of the half and go into the break up 36-33.

To begin the second half, the Swedes would cut the deficit down to two points, but the Tigers would slowly build their lead to 20 points over the rest of the period. Doane would take this one 74-59.

Maurice Cudjo II would lead the Swedes in scoring with 16 points to go along with a team-high 4 steals and the Swedes lone block. Ty Eugene would tally three assists and Bryant Jefferson would grab 6 rebounds.

As a team, both squads would shoot below 50%. The Swedes would go 1-14 (7.1%) from three-point range.
