Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes took on the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in the second of three consecutive home games for the Swedes. The Swedes would have their worst game of the season against a talented and deep Eagles roster leading the Swedes falling 71-56.
Devin Spencer showed why he is deserving of the Defensive Player of the Year award as he recorded four steals and lead the Swedes' defensive into forcing 27 turnovers by the Eagles, their most so far this season. Spencer would also score eight points, pull in six rebounds (team-high), and dish out three assists.
Emmanuel Akpan would drop 25 with a good chunk of it coming from free throws where he shattered his season-high of free throws made with 11.
As a team, the Swedes had a night to forget shooting 28.6% from the floor overall tying their season-low against Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Coupled with the poor shooting was giving up 12 offensive rebounds to the Eagles leading to 10 points.
