Winfield, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes took the road to Winfield, Kan. to take on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders. The Moundbuilders would capitalize on the Swedes' poor shooting to cruise to an 86-69 victory.
Kenny Haynes would lead the way for the Swedes with 19 points followed by Ellis Todd with 16, Emmanuel Akpan with 13, and Devin Spencer with 12. Akpan would reel in 9 rebounds while Spencer continued his defensive dominance with three steals and a block.
As a team, the Swedes shot 35.8% from the floor and 57.1% from the charity stripe. Bethany would double up Southwestern in offensive rebounds, but would lose the total rebound battle by 41-29.
