SWEDES FALL IN TOUGH MATCHES AGAINST GOLDEN EAGLES
Lindsborg, Kan. – On March 7, the Swedes played host to the John Brown University Golden Eagles for the second time in a week's span. After some hard-fought matches, the Swedes would not be able to relive last week's glory as they would fall 3-4.
In the doubles matches, Francisco Bravo and Martin Priban would defeat Brady Dick and Spencer Keeter in the number one spot 7-6 (7-4). Zeke Mumford and Dylan Gwilt would take care of the number two spot defeating Negad Ezzat and Lucas Borges 7-6 (7-2). Alexjandro Rico Moran and Carlos Rodriguez Rivas fell to Jonathan Hillock and Andrew Aylor in the number three spot 1-6, but the Swedes would still walk away with the 1-0 advantage thanks to the doubles point.
In the singles division, Zeke Mumford defeated Brady Dick (2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7)) in the number three spot in a match that would last just over 90 minutes. In the number five spot, Daniel Lozano defeated Hayes Stark (6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10)) in what was a back-and-forth match lasting just over 100 minutes. Francisco Bravo would play the longest match of the night, lasting just under two hours, but would fall 4-6, 7-6, 0-1 (8-10). With only two of the six singles matches won, it would not be enough for the Swedes as John Brown would take this one 4-3.
