SWEDES FALL 2-5; STILL FAVORED TO MAKE PLAYOFFS

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Swedes' Tennis teams played host to the Ottawa University Braves for the Swedes' Senior Day.

Women

The women's side did not go well as the Swedes failed to win a single match in double and singles. On the double's side, the pairing of Makenna Russom and Kyla Metro played well, but ultimately fell 5-7.

As for singles, Ana Sofia Castillo Paz was the only Swedes to bring their match into a third set falling 0-6, 6-4, 4-6. The Braves only competed four players, so the Swedes took the number five and six matches for a final score of 2-5.

Men

On the men's side, the Swedes won the doubles point even though all three matches went into tiebreakers. The number two doubles of Zeke Mumford and Dylan Gwilt escaped with a 7-6 (9-7) victory and the number three doubles of Alexjandro Rico Moran and Carlos Rodriguez Rivas won 7-6 (7-5). The number one doubles pairing of Francisco Bravo and Martin Priban was narrowly defeated 6-7 (13-15).

As for singles, Dylan Gwilt was the lone Swede to taste victory throughout the contest winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).
