FRIENDS UNIVERSITY 1ST CHANCE QUALIFIERS
Wichita, Kan. - The Bethany College Swedes opened the new year with the 1st Chance Qualifier at Wichita State hosted by Friends University on Thursday, January 11th.
With limited practice time due to the weather and the holidays, the Swedes showed that they could continue to train and achieve their goals for the upcoming season. Between both the women's and men's teams, Bethany had a total of 10 personal bests, 6 events finalists, 4 event champions, 1 top-3 finish, and, most importantly, 1 national qualifying mark.
"Overall, the team competed well across the board in the jumps, sprints, throws, and middle distance," said Head Coach Aaron Yoder. "Without having the whole squad due to travel issues, we were pleased with how everyone performed out of the gates."
Enoch Ojo led the charge with 4 personal bests marks, two event wins, and a national qualifying mark in the Triple Jump.
"We are very excited about the next competition we have on the 20th at Pittsburg State University (later this month)," said Yoder.
Below are the goals achieved in total:
