SWEDES LOSE THE DUAL TO CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY

Seward, Neb. - The Bethany College Men's Wrestling team traveled to Seward on Friday afternoon to match up against Concordia University. In the dual, the Swedes were able to pick up 3 victories by decisions from Kaden Goff, Chase Pywell, and Rocky Whitehead. Swedes would automatically give up 6 team points to Concordia due to forfeits at 125, 141 and 157 weight class. Here are the results from dual. 

At 133 pounds, Braden Brimm lost to Thomas Ivey 12-2 major decision. That win would give Concordia 4 team points. 

At 149 pounds, Kaden Goff gets the Swedes going by picking up the win on an 11-6 decision. Kaden was able to defeat Jeaven Scdoris and give the Swedes their first 3 team points. 

At 165 pounds, Jacob Barnes would have a tough loss to Issiah Burks by TF 18-1 in 2:36. This win would give Concordia 5 team points. 

At 174 pounds, Jesse Gardner came up short to Jose Sanchez losing by 6-3 decision. Jesse fought hard to stay in the match but could not get past Sanchez in the later rounds. This win would give Concordia 3 team points. 

At 184 pounds, Gannon Mosher would lose by pinfall to Stephen Duffy in 1:12. Mosher would come out strong but was not able to get out of the pin. This win gave Concordia 6 team points. 

At 197 pounds, Chase Pywell picked up the victory against Clayton Laabs on a 14-7 decision. Pywell would have a solid match and was able to give the Swedes 3 team points

At 285 pounds, Rocky Whitehead won on a 3-2 decision against Jack Hedke. All around it was a great matchup between the two wrestlers and Whitehead was able to hold Hdke off to pick up the victory. That win gave the Swedes another 3 team points. 

In the last match of the night, the extra wrestlers Christopher Walker and Cy Renney matched up but Renney would get the best of Walker, winning by pinfall in 1:17.

The Bethany College Men's wrestling team will compete in the Doane Conner/Oppenheim Open in Crete, Nebraska Saturday, December 3rd, 9:00 am cst.
