THEADFORD EARNS FIRST CAREER WIN; SWEDES COMPETE IN YOUNES HOSPITALITY OPEN
Kearney, Neb. – The Bethany College Wrestling Team took a trip to Kearney, Nebraska to participate in the Younes Hospitality Open hosted by the University of Nebraska – Kearney.
In an event that featured 30 teams competing in a bracket style competition sectioned by weight, the Swedes showed some promise.
Wrestling at 184lbs, Triston Vande Velde recorded his lone win of the day by fall over Tyler Moore of Trinidad State College.
At 197lbs, Keeno Theadford earned his first career collegiate win handily via a 22-6 tech fall over Edgar Duarte Quiroz of Barton Community College.
At 285lbs, Rocky Whitehead won his first two matches; first by way of a 15-0 tech fall over Blake Postoak of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Whitehead's second match resulted in a victory by way of fall 2:05 into the contest.

Next up for the Swedes is a two-day trip back to Nebraska. First up, Bethany will head to Concordia, Nebraska to compete against the Concordia University Bulldogs on Friday, December 1st beginning at 7:00pm. The next morning, the Swedes will take a trip to Crete, Nebraska to participate in the Doane Open hosted by Doane University beginning at 9:00am.
