
YORK VS BETHANY MILE RELAY CHALLENGE RECAP
York, Neb. - The Bethany College XC teams traveled up to York, Neb. to take on York University in the inaugural York vs Bethany Mile Relay Challenge.
The York coaching staff set up a course at a nearby campground that stretched for one mile. Everyone was divided into teams of two and were tasked to do mile repeats as a relay. The men ran a total of eight mile (four miles each) while the women ran a total of six miles (three miles each).
"Great day for the Swedes setting a new tradition with a relay style dual meet against York University," said Head XC Coach Aaron Yoder. "Coach Carver at York and his staff set up a great venue for the cross-country runners to have a change in pace from a normal meet."
Overall, the Swedes came home with a team victory on the men's side. Chris Yoder and Tristen Dye took home first place with a time of 41:42 averaging just under 5:13 per mile. Chris Yoder would take home the award of best individual performance with a total time of 20:29.

The Swedes will be back in action in three weeks when they take Old Highway 81 to McPherson, Kan. to compete in the Carol Swensson Invite on Saturday, October 12. The meet is set to begin at 9:00 AM.
