STERLING DEFEATS SWEDES BY 7

Sterling, Kan.- The Bethany College Swedes were on the road, Wednesday, November 20th, at Sterling College taking on the Warriors in a weekday matchup. The Swedes were looking to add to their conference win against Avila but would fall short.

1st: The first quarter, the Swedes would struggle as they only scored 8 to the Warriors' 17 points. Bethany would find themselves down by 7, with 5:03 left to play, 4-11. After several turnovers, the score at the end of the quarter was 8-17, Swedes down by 9.

2nd: The Swedes would make some slight improvements in the second quarter but Sterling maintained control and would extend their lead. Bethany was down by 14 going into halftime.

3rd: After the break, the Swedes came out determined to make a comeback in the third quarter. The Warriors pressed on even with the Swedes coming within 9 with just over a minute to play in the third, 40-49.

4th: Within reach, Bethany went to work to lessen the deficient however, the Warriors would continue to push. After being down by 10, the Swedes finally broke through and were within 7 of the Warriors with 4:29 left to play, 51-58. Unfortunately for the Swedes, Sterling would hold on to win by 7, 59-66.

Notable stats include, Jaden Newfarmer with 7 rebounds, 10 points, 5 assists, and 1 block, Celina Eisenhardt with 3 rebounds and 17 points, and Kaleigh O'Brien with 5 rebounds, 8 points, and 2 blocks.
