EXPLOSIVE FIRST HALF NOT ENOUGH; SWEDES FALL BY FOUR

Hillsboro, Kan. - The Bethany College Swedes were on the road at Tabor College for their rescheduled weekday matchup taking on the Bluejays, Thursday, February 13^th.

The Swedes came out hot in the first quarter as they contained the Bluejays' offense, outscoring Tabor, 25-7 and shooting a season high of 78% from the field. Bethany continued hitting shots in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 17-point lead over the Bluejays, 42-25. Unfortunately, Tabor would flip the script on Bethany and start their comeback in the third quarter. The Swedes struggled to make shots, shooting 33% from field goal range coming out of the break. Tabor outscored Bethany 8-16, cutting the lead down to nine as both teams were entering the final quarter. Both teams quickly went to work to establish momentum as the final minutes were ticking down. The Bluejays gained the lead for the first time in the game with 6:11 left to play. With time winding down, the Swedes tried to gain control again but weren't able to stop the Bluejays' offense. The Swedes fell by four points, 64-68.

Notable stats include, Jaden Newfarmer with 18 points and 8 rebounds, Janae Black-Harmon with 4 assists and 8 rebounds along with 8 points, and Colbi Rignell with 11 points and 2 blocks.
