SWEDES-BULLDOGS CONTEST ENDS IN STALEMATE

McPherson, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Soccer Team took Old Highway 81 south to McPherson, Kan. where they would face off against a struggling McPherson College Bulldogs team.

The Bulldogs came out on the attack, but would only draw multiple offside penalties over the first 10 minutes of play. After the third offside penalty, Bianca Carreon would lead a counterattack that was just saved by the Bulldogs goalkeeper. Leonela Flores would attempt a shot in the 29th minute, but it would sail wide right. Just before the end of the first half, McPherson would attempt a shot only to be saved by Mackenzie Nutter. The score would remain 0-0 at the break.

In the second half, both teams would continue to attempt to put one in the back of the net, but fail to do so as the game would end in a 0-0 draw.

Jysell Sampedro lead the Swedes in shots (4) and shots on goal (2). Rachel Laster and Bianca Carreon both tallied a shot a goal. Mackenzie Nutter would record four saves on the evening.

The Swedes will gear up to take on the Avila University Eagles at the Z in Kansas City, Mo. on Saturday, October 19th. Kickoff will be at 12:00 PM followed by the men's game at 2:30 PM.
