TENNIS VS TABOR RECAP

TENNIS VS TABOR RECAP

LINDSBORG, KAN. - On March 6th the Swedes opened up their spring season hosting the Tabor Bluejays at the Lindquist Tennis Center. This was an important conference match for both teams.

Throughout the match, the tides were very different between the men's and women's teams. The men battled in doubles, unfortunately facing a sweep to lose the doubles point. The women, in contrast, swept doubles, beating the short-handed visitors.

As things transferred over to singles, similar fates befell each team. The men battled in all matches, falling short everywhere except #5 Singles (Matt Lucas). The women, on the other hand, were successful at all positions except for #1.

At the end of the day, the Men's team was defeated 1-6. The Women won 6-1. Coach DeWitt had this to say after the matches: "I thought our guys battled well. Unfortunately we weren't able to get enough wins to start the season like we wanted. The women did a great job playing well enough to win, although I think both teams have quite a few things we can work on the next few days to get ready for our next matches."

The Swedes play next at home on March 8th and 9th.
