
HARBIT GETS SWEEP; MEN VICTORIOUS VS EAGLES
Bartlesville, Okla. – The Bethany College Tennis teams took the road to Bartlesville, Okla. to take on the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles.
Women: Swedes 1, Eagles 6
The duo of Helen Harbit and Makenna Russom were the ones for the Swedes to earn a victory in doubles play. The defeated Valeria Perez and Nikoleta Aleksic by a score of 6-3. Bethany's twos, consisting of Karee Adam and Kyla Metro, took their match the distance, but would fall in the tie break ultimately losing 6-7 (2-7). The Eagles would take the ones' matchup to take the doubles point and go up 1-0.
Helen Harbit continued an excellent day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Valeria Perez. Makenna Russom went to a tie break in her match against Nikoleta Aleksic, but Aleksic would get the last laugh winning 1-6, 6-2, 0-1 (6-10). The Eagles would take the rest of the matches handedly leaving the final team score as 1-6.
Men: Swedes 5, Eagles 2
The men won the doubles point after the first two matches were finished. The ones (Francisco Bravo/Martin Priban) and threes (Alexjandro Rico Moran/Carlos Rodrigues Rivas) would both win their matches handedly. The twos (Zeke Mumford/Dylan Gwilt) would fall 4-6.
In singles play, the Swedes would take four of the six matches with Pedro Melo having the most competitive contest. Melo won his bout with Owen Harrison 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6). Daniel Lozano also went three sets, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
