SJOGREN QUALFIES; SWEDES SHOWOUT IN BETHEL COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

North Newton, Kan. - With the Spring Break coming to a close, the Swedes Track and Field Team competed a select group to perform at the Bethel College Invite in Newton, Kan. The Swedes had a well rounded showing with athletes in the throws, vault, sprinting and middle distance. Overall, Bethany had 5 total PRs, 2 event champions and B-Standard National mark achieved.

The day started off with a strong showing from Freshman Dylan Brice jumping his personal best twice. Dylan ended up with a 4.65m (15'3") vault which was good to earn the event win. The sprinters had a great day with two personal bests in the 400m battling some strong South winds on the homestretch. Ariana Hurley and Noah Andersson both bested their 400m times. As our lone thrower, Senior Kort Sjogren had a great start to the season achieving his personal best of 61.77m (202'8") in the javelin throw. During this competition there was no finals so throwers were only allowed 4 throws. Sjogren walked away with the event win and also a Number 1 ranking in the KCAC. Overall, the Swedes showed a lot of firepower and displayed the work they have put in during the time we had after the indoor track and Field Season.
